Summer Divisions 2016

PLEASE READ ALL RULES & CLASS DESCRIPTIONS CAREFULLY

(A) ROSE DIVISION
Unless otherwise stated, roses are to be displayed with 2 composite leaves left on the stem.
1. David Austin – any colour, no buds, ½-3/4 open
2. Floribunda – any colour, no buds, ½-3/4 open
3. Grandiflora – any colour, no buds ½-3/4 open
4. Hybrid Tea – any colour, ½-3/4 open
5. Shrub roses – any colour, no buds, ½-3/4 open
6. Sprays – any cultivar, any colour, at least 2 blooms open
7. Miniature – 1 floating in stemmed glass with no foliage
8. Miniature – 1 growing in a suitable size pot
9. Miniature – 1 spray (at least 2 blooms open)
10. Miniature – 3 blooms in a club box with no foliage
11. Mini-flora or Patio Rose – 1 spray
12. Bowl of miniatures – minimum 9 blooms
13. Cycle of bloom (3 stems, 1 cultivar,
own vase)
– – 1 Bud, coloured petals just beginning to unfurl, less than ¼ open
– – 1 Bloom, exhibition stage (1/2-3/4 open)
– – 1 Bloom, fully open (stamens may show)
14. Single bloom in a club frame with 1 or more of own leaflets
– –
Entire entry must rest within frame
15. Any type of bloom – 1 floating in own Brandy snifter (judged for fragrance)
no foliage
16. Any type of bloom – 1 fully open with decorative stamens
17. Bud in own vase – ¼ open with attached foliage
18. Bowl of roses – any type or types (other than minis) own foliage, at least 9 stems, own bowl
19. Display Only

(B) DECORATIVE DIVISION (Designer’s Choice) (see definitions in show rules)
20. Miniature exhibit not over 5 inches in dimension
21. Petite exhibit between 5 and 9 inches in dimension
22. Light & Shadow
23. Collection of perennials (3 or more varieties) 1-2 cuts of each, own foliage, balanced and pleasing to the eye
24. Display Only

(C) POTTED PLANT DIVISION
30. African Violet
31. Orchid
32. Fern
33. Cacti
34. Succulents
35. Any other indoor plant
36. Any other outdoor plant
37. Display Only

(D) PERENNIAL DIVISION
30. Pansy, 3 stems, 1 variety in club container
41. Iris – bearded
42. Iris – beardless
43. Rock plant – 3 cut stems
44. Rock plant/s in a container
45. Peony – single, any colour
46. Peony – double, any colour
47. Poppy
48. Decorative foliage of non-woody plant(s), 1-5 cuts
49. Any other perennial
50. Display Only

(E) ANNUALS
51. Lupin – 3 stems
52. Phlox – 3 stems
53. Sweet Peas – 6 stems, any colour
54. Any other annual – 3 stems
55. Display Only

(F) FLOWERING SHRUB AND TREE DIVISION
60. Rhododendron – 1 truss or spray
61. Clematis – less than 3” in diameter, any colour
62. Clematis – more than 3” in diameter, any colour
63. Any other flowering shrub
64. Any other flowering tree
65. Any other flowering vine
66. Decorative foliage of woody plant(s), 1-3 cuts
67. Display Only

(G) VEGETABLE & FRUIT DIVISION
70. Peas – 5 pods
71. Asparagus – 3 stalks
72. Rhubarb – 3 stalks
73. Lettuce plant – own container in water
74. Kale – 1 leaf in water
75. Swiss Chard – 1 leaf in water
76. Radish – 3 roots, turnip-rooted
77. Radish – 3 roots, long
78. Any fruit (see Show Rules for number of items)
79. Any other vegetable (see Show Rules for number of items)
80. Display Only

(H) HERB DIVISION
85. 1 herb growing in a pot
86. Pot of mixed herbs – minimum of 4
87. Mixed herbs in water – minimum of 4, own vase
88. Display Only

(J) JUNIOR DIVISION
J-1 One small tray or container of labelled, growing seedlings
J-2 Exhibit of flowers and foliage
J-3 Miniature garden on a pie plate
J-4 One clear container which shows the sprouting of one or more seeds, same variety, labelled.
